Dental Implants in Stevenson WA
What are Dental Implants
Dental implants are the next best thing to healthy, natural teeth, retaining your natural face shape, and smile. Protecting healthy bone and keeping your teeth in your mouth, not in a cup, allows you to speak easily, eat your favorite foods, and protect your healthy teeth. A dental implant is the strongest device available to support replacement teeth, is not vulnerable to cavities, allowing your replacement teeth to feel, look and work naturally. Proven safe and effective at replacing missing teeth, contemporary dental implants have been in use for more than 30 years.
Your implant team of your restorative dentist, oral & maxillofacial surgeon, dental lab, and support staff:
- have years of training
- meet regularly to embrace new technology
- maintain a high level of communication between our offices.
This is all to provide you with a highly skilled and coordinated team committed to providing you with the most excellent care in a comfortable up-to-date environment.
Dental implants are a secure, long-term, and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth, and also help preserve the surrounding bone. They can replace a single tooth or a full set of teeth.
After an initial evaluation, a thorough review of your options, and a custom plan with Dr. Clifton, the steps for a dental implant can be comfortable and as easy as 1-2-3.
1) The oral surgeon removes the tooth & places the implant on the same day.
2) The Implant heals for 3 months.
3) Dr. Clifton attaches the custom abutment and finished crown.
Types of Dental Implants
There are many applications for Dental Implants
Single Implants can replace one missing tooth, keeping the single missing tooth a single tooth solution rather than grinding down two adjacent healthy teeth to make a bridge for instance.
Immediate Implants are placed right after the tooth is removed. They reduce the number of appointments, allow the shortest healing time, preserve the surrounding bone, and prevent the collapse of the adjacent teeth.
Implant-Supported Bridge. Implants can be placed to support a bridge where multiple teeth are missing next to each other. For example, two implants may support a bridge replacing three teeth.
Implant Retained Dentures attach to implants and can be fixed so they do not come out, or retain a removable denture for a secure stable solution that can look and feel like natural teeth.
